It's not too late to join in the Wine Country Cruise this September 26-29. It's anticipated that 30 will enjoy this four-day, three-night adventure. Add to that the Indochine Southeast Asiaitinerary for January 4-26in2004, during which, Doug Keare has written, six to eight couples plan to learn while traveling. In addition, our class president Glen French recently shared other reconnecting opportunities. With so many finding awarmer setting for late january and February the usual Fun Fantastics in New York is more likely to become "a night at the theater." With the passing of this annual weekend of a class meeting and great dining, this class owes a giant "thank you" to Buddy Schattman and Roger Schumacher for their tireless work over the years to make that event a winner. The growing Florida group is looking to build on the enormously successful West Coast bash designed by Tony Bruscino, Ted Bremble and Gordon Lenci. Howard Sodokoff, up in Stuart, Florida, is eager of get folks onto the East Coast as well. Perhaps there's a way to joining these two coasts for a "Greater Florida" gathering. Dan Musser of the class of'55 has made it possible for a terrific time at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, Michigan, July 8-11, 2004. Kristin and I had a spectacular retirement weekend there almost three years ago. In addition, Santa Fe, New Mexico, is slated for a late-summer or early-fall gathering in 2004. In 2005 it is hoped to draw together our substantial Midwest group in Chicago or another good resort. Tag Chapman and Jack Crowley will be working on that.

Russell Cooper-Meade reports that our 50th reunion book is well underway, with Doug Keare, Len Clark,Ted Bremble, Clem Malin and Line Spaulding addressing the significant financial underpinnings, Its designed to include everyone in something we'll be proud to keep right there on the coffee table. As announced earlier, we'll head up to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe for three days following our Hanover time, thanks to the efforts of Dave Stackpole.

Russ Brace wrote to alert me of Flint Raney's victory in the first ever Nantucket Island-wide spelling bee. His two daughters, Libby and Kate, joined him in defeating 34 other teams and securing a place for their names atop the perpetual trophy the champions get to keep for a year. This "spellchecker" dependent is awestruck!

Dennis Minely reports that George Cohan has retired after years as a high school principal and private school headmaster. The Cambridge School in Weston, Massachusetts, in appreciation for his tour there, has named one of its buildings after him. The students affectionately call it "The George".

Bruce Baekey died at this home on December 11,2002, and Flint wrote in The Wah, Who? Whisper! of Glen Gardners death several months earlier in September. Look for those obituaries in this and a future issue of the DAM.
