Charlie and Marian Archer have joined the Floridians, retired, and the new address is Box 242, Ozona, Fla.
Han Yung, known otherwise as "Mac," Korean war orphan, was pictured on the front page of Boston papers at Thanksgiving time sitting on the porch of Mose Linscott in Needham where he and his adopted daddy, Eugene M. Head of Wolfboro, N. H., were celebrating their reunion and Thanksgiving. Mrs. Linscott had sent packages to Head and other G.I.'s overseas and also to Mac at the orphanage.
Another to settle in Florida this fall is RaeburnR. McMahon, retired, at 2400 11th St. South, St. Petersburg.
Ralph Samuel says he is not quite an ace, but he and Florence for Christmas and New Year's have sent a most interesting account, "Not Quite an Ace," of their most recent European trip and their plane trips over and back.
General and Edna Willson have moved to 987 Memorial Drive, Cambridge 38, Mass., in one of those delightful apartment houses on the Drive. He leaves his present Harvard atmosphere to lunch at Pattens with the gang every Wednesday.
The three sons of '13 in Hanover at present are: Milton Aronowitz Jr. '55, William S. Bronk '55 and Arthur N. Pierce '57.
The doings of the McCoy clan in highlights of '53 came from Mac in a welcome letter. Son Clark is a design engineer with General Electric in Pittsfield and is frequently sent on trips all over the U. S. Daughter Ruth was married August 8 to Ronald Forrest, ex-Navy man who served on an airplane carrier in the Pacific. He is a graduate of Rochester Business Institute and is now with Remington Rand in Elmira, N. Y. Mac's mother is 86 and "is still going strong, having motored across the state and back this summer visiting relatives." He is in the gardens much of the time, having 100,000 glads on the estate in plots of about 10,000 each. Beautiful!
Ted Davis has returned from his trip to Florida "by water." Johnny Johnson, of Cape Cod fame, at our Patten luncheons has reported for the three or four times he has seen Ted that he seems to be well, happy and busy.
The Matt Gatelys will be home for a trip about the middle of 1954. Matt is vice president of the First National Bank of Boston at Rio de Janeiro.
George and Grace Stiles have returned to Washington from their European trip during this past summer but no real report has been received from George yet.
As we mail these notes, word comes or the death of Gladstone B. Kellogg on December 19, at his home in San Marino, Calif. More information will be available next month. New Year's Day was saddened by the receipt of a telegram advising of the sudden passing of Jack Macdonald at his home, on December 31, from a brain hemorrhage. It is asked that any memorial gifts be sent to Thayer School. Full details will be available in the next issue of the MAGAZINE.
