Query: whether the lack of material for this column is due to the untimeliness of the news though this vehicle or its pervasive irrelevance to many of us or our collective modesty (unlikely!) or perhaps simply that most of us are at that stage in life where the stresses and demands of careers, children, aging parents, etc. keep us from taking the time to stay in touch. Your cosecretaries, and probably a few other classmates as well, would be pleased to hear from, you—on this topic, or any other.
Two pieces from the DAM clipping service must suffice for this issue:
Richard Schulz, professor of psychology and director of the Center for Social and Urban Research at the University of Pittsburgh, received the American Psychological Associations 2003 Developmental Health Award for his work in the area of health in later life. His research examined the health effects of being the primary caregiver to a family member or spouse.
As of this writing, James Nachtwey is in Iraq for Time magazine. Some of his recent photos there can be found at www.time.com. In February Jims work in chronicling conflict was honored by the Tufts University Institute for Global Leadership.
That's all folks. Kick back and enjoy the rest of the summer.
