President George W. Bush has appointed Christopher T. Jenny to the nations premier advisory committee on international trade, the Presidents Export Council Jenny is a senior partner with the Parthenon Group, a Boston-based strategy-consulting firm. Jenny joins 26 other leading executives such as the chairmen and CEOs of Dell Computer Corp. ,J.W. Marriott and General Motors Corp. in being chosen to advise the president on trade performance, export expansion and other vital issues related to international trade.

From the Providence Business News, John A. Tarentino was recently named one of the Top 10 Lawyers of the Year in 2002 by Lawyers WeeklyUSA. John is president of the law firm Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. and the past president of the Rhode Island Bar Association; he was recently elected president of the New England Bar Association. John resides in East Greenwich and is a graduate of the Boston College School of Law.

Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP announced on January 16 that the prominent Atlanta lawyer Kevin Ross has been retained as a special consultant as part of the firms commitment to increase its community, civic, pro-bono, charitable, governmental and political activities. In addition, Kevin will participate with the firm in specific business development initiatives in Atlanta and Washington. Ross, a former managing partner of the Atlanta office of Hunton & Williams, is the founder and president of KAJ Public Affairs Group, a highly successful consultancy group.

Mark Fidler has just published a children's novel, The Call of Sagarmatha. It is his fourth novel. The book is a fictionalized account of a Mt. Everest climbing tragedy, as seen through the eyes of the 12-year-old daughter left behind.
