J. Danna Darnley, M.D., is the Medical School class of 1941 secretary. From his alumni news and notes I quote the following: BillSinclair continues to walk all 18 holes. He and Barbara returned to Cleveland for the summer. Janet Chipman is enjoying her days at a first class retirement and nursing home in Wilmington, Delaware. "Doc" Darnley and his wife, Eloise, had a momentous autumn highlighted by celebrating their 50th anniversary in Mississippi, where they were married in December 1952."

Bud Hewitt writes that he achieves satisfaction of some sort by various categories of bookkeeping. On a daily basis he tracks a large variety of mutual funds mostly with Fidelity. As a member of our great class of 1940, Bud keeps track of living classmates and those who have left us. Mention was made of George Mahoney, who died in 19 85 but had been a close friend from the very first day at Dartmouth. Bud and I did not meet on our first day but we were the work force of the Dartmouth Players and our first job after graduation was at Lord & Taylor in New York City. If a contributing classmate has died before paying his current dues, Bud has made this payment. Also, if because of death, a contribution to the Alumni Fund is not made, a memorial gift may be made. Mrs. Bruce Miller sent a very nice thank you note for the donation in memory of Bruce to Dartmouth College Fund. Howard Akerly's son thanked Bud for the gift to the Dartmouth College Fund in memory of his father. Rosella Stearns and the Joe Dunford family also sent their thanks for gifts to the Dartmouth College Fund.

Joe Burnett in addition to saying thank you for his birthday card noted that he and Stet Whitcher saw the Boston Ballet production of Romeo and Juliet.

Bill Huffman reported that he sees Walter Kelley about once a month. They are members of the Men's Garden Club. Walt does the gardening on the Cape and Bill tries to stay ahead of the weeds.

Norris Harwood was kind enough to say thanks for his birthday card. I hope there will be many more birthday cards to be sent.
