I want to remind you all that our mini-reunion will be October 23, 24 and 25. Don Barr is our new mini chair and I know he's working diligently to make it a huge success. John McClintock will be giving you the details. Be there! Received a long letter from Brad Morehouse. He said my remarks about Bill Spoor and Clark Judge abandoning tennis moved him because a bum knee is reducing his skill on the court. Brad's doing some traveling and on the horizon are Belle Isle En Mer (you could look it up!), Krakow and Budapest. Also will spend time at the College Grant and finds time to hunt and fly fish. One would assume he no longer practices law with that schedule. Through the college I received a copy of Bob Skutch's latest book, titled Albie's Tripto the Tumble Jungle. A children's book, as was his Who's in a Family, that has 30,000 copies in print. Bob is still out in Mill Valley, California. I recently had breakfast with "Obe" Obermayer and his wife, Betty. Obe was here to lecture at Monmouth University, but his big news is that he's working on a book about his experiences in World War 11. Those of you who know Obe will know this will be no ordinary book. Reg Pierce informs me that recent '46ers seen in Hanover are "Scrib" Jelliffe, Bob Sandoe and Jack Ulrich. I think Scrib lives in Hanover year round but Bob spends most of his time in Hawaii and Jack half the year in Florida. Ah '46! 'Round the girdled earth they roam—and who knows what "girdled" means? Tom Adams advises that the class has exceeded its $100,000 goal for the Alumni Fund. Will tell you more next time. For now, thank you so much. The New YorkTimes reported the death of Howard D. Samuel on June 19. He was described as a "veteran AFLCIO leader who served as a liaison with its industrial union components as well as with government and private organizations." He was all that and then some. A real giant with labor and the Democratic Party. I regret to report the death of classmate John S. Kellstrand. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Kellstrand and Samuel families.
