When you read this you'll still have time to come to Hanover for our minireunion. Starts on October 20. Put this date down too. June 12-14, 2006. What's that? Our 60th reunion and Jim Von Rohr and Ray Dewees have already put together a great program. Once again Bob Hunt will handle the money. He did a super job for the 55th and comes back by popular demand. Lu Leeger, retired from his judicial role in California but still active with court referrals and pro bono (that's what lawyers do for free. No kidding!). Martin Brusse still in hometown Denver, Colorado, and he's still working. Has a business that deals with, makes or whatever but comes under the heading of orthodontics. He didn't mention retirement so I guess he's happy at work. Did you know we had five classmates from Denver. Can you name them? Talked to Dr. David Warren, now in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and retired. He was an internist and practiced for many years in Connecticut. And you surely must know he's our only classmate who did his secondary education in India. You just have to know these trivia tidbits. Anyway, the good doctor is fine and enjoying retirement. Stephen Olko! Now this one I know is a one-and-only. Steve's an engineer, Thayer School graduate. Has a firm in N.Y.C. and his business is planning, building and designing ports. If there's anyone else in our class that does that, I'll eat my hat. Truth is I never knew anyone who did that. I guess I thought ports just happened. He's done work all over the world and has no intention of retiring. Lives in the Great City and is enjoying life. Tom Adams, the fundraiser par excellence, tells me we raised $140,000,20 percent over our goal. That makes five years you've done that.
With sadness I must advise of the deaths of classmates Philip S. Hodge on February 28; Edward M. Maley on March 11; Dwight H. Montz on April 4,2004; Dr. Oliver S. Thresher on May 17; Richard B. Fahlman on March 12; and Laurence Weisman on May 25. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
