Welcome to 2004! Happily, the New Year began with plenty of '01 togetherness. Tim Carpenter and John Bullen were in Vail over New Year's, relaxing on the slopes with local resident Jen Gill. In a warmer gathering, Louisa Sadler, Hamilton Fryer, Jay Krehbiel, Meg Smoot, Kevin Reavey '02, Liam Krehbiel '98 and Karen Rose '98 rang in the New Year together in Florida.

As 2004 gets under way, Liz Merritt is in med school in Providence and living a block from Lindsay Maclndoe. Also in New England for the winter, Paul Biggs is working at DREAM in Burlington, Vermont, and will be in Australia in March for Mardi Gras in Sydney and some surfing with Megan Moyer. Choosing a chillier sport, Allison Cardlin is training with the national bobsled team in Lake Placid in February. Amanda Montgomery is in Gray, Maine, working for Sabre Yacht Corp. as the technical sales rep, "getting paid to work and play on boats!"

In Boston this winter, Melissa McDaniel is into her second term at Tufts Veterinary School. In preparation for a grueling six-hour first-term anatomy exam, she and her roommate apparently took Medford by storm, wrapping themselves in Christmas paper and ribbon. Also in Boston (but out of range of the aforementioned spectacle, I believe), Bradford Crevier survived a first term at Northeastern Law School, along with Sarah London, Shana Maldonado '99 and Joe Calandrelli '03.

Joyce Wang is at JPMorgan in N.Y.C. and recently published a knitting pattern booklet called Trendy Knit Tops (Leisure Arts, 2003). An interesting sideline! Dave Floren is also in N.Y.C., hoping to start a band with Karl Baumert and some childhood friends. Allison Murray is pleased to announce that she's now working as a managing editorial assistant at Simon and Schuster.

Carrie Hoverman is in D.C. working for RAND in the health unit. She reports that she was thrilled to run into Amanda Green at a bar while on a scuba diving trip in Thailand with Katie Lyndon in the fall. Kristin Luckenbill is in Vail, Colorado, for the winter, coaching ski racing. She has enjoyed ski visits from Josh Lozman, Jamie Hozack '00, Will Coyne '00, Gusty Swift, Dana Loebman '00, Katie Gayman and Jen Murray.

In West Coast developments, Sarah Honoroski Mohr is enjoying her new job teaching high school at drug rehabilitation centers in California, and Allison Waggener Boyd is in Seattle pursuing a Ph.D. in political science at the University of Washington. Bradford McKeown is working as a professional gopher (a.k.a. executive assistant) at a bank in Salem, Oregon. Eric Bussey writes that he is now in San Francisco, exploring show business possibilities (but expecting to teach in the meantime)!

Overseas, Hilke DeSmedt is finishing up a second year in London and looking for jobs farther afield, possibly South Africa. Negarra Kudumu is in Brazil for the winter with definite plans to be determined.

Now onto nuptial news! There will be many, many wedding bells ringing in 2004. Erin Ingudomnukul and Chris Coffman are engaged to be married this summer in San Francisco. Andrew Gray will be "man of honor" and Jeff Cooney '02 will be officiating at the ceremony. Eric Shoemaker was recently engaged to Kathryn Payette '04, Laura Brockway was engaged to Eric Sirianni over Thanksgiving, and Erika Nelson is engaged to high school sweetheart Kyle Smith. Brian Nealon is engaged to Amanda Herring '03, Pete Ferris and Tammy Gargas are engaged to be married in April in Annapolis, Maryland, and Greg Chittim is engaged to Jennifer Hughes (UNH '02). Last but certainly not least, Fred Hurley and Tracy Davis were married in August on a beautiful pond in Marlboro, New York! Congratulations to all!
