I suspect many of you are vacationing in some far away exotic and warm places. For myself, I recently spent a few days in Costa Rica, and I found it very lovely. Wherever you are, enjoy. I've written more than once about the exploits of our Jim Crawford and his outstanding record senior weight throwing. Now find that he is broadening his field. He's enrolled in continuing French and has completed basic Latin and early Latin comedy at Fairfield University. How many of you can say "been there, done that?" All I can say is sic transit gloria.

Howard "Duke" Schnieder sent me a wonderful print out of two stories written by 8-year old twins Paula and Helene. You'll recall these little ones arrived just before our 50th. Duke says he and Miriam will celebrate 15 years of marital bliss and Duke's 80th birthday in Idaho, this August. In the print-out it says, 'All three Schneider ladies are high maintenance, but Howard is well suited for the task." If you'd like a copy of the print-out, write Duke at 116 E. 63rd St., NY, NY 10021.

Spoke with Jim Lynch just before he took off for a stay in Tucson, Arizona. He'll meet up with Doug Leigh there. Jim, active in Dorset, Vermont, is head of the historical association and on the local library board. He tells me the Dorset Field Club is the oldest golf club in the U SA. That will probably evoke some response. I must remind you that 'tis the season when the chancellor of the exchequer, a.k.a. Tom Adams, will be reaching out for your purse to contribute to the Alumni Fund. The goal this year is $110,000. Sounds reasonable, so let's do it. Tom now has a new high-profile client, one Donald Trump. Tom is making a movie with"The Donald" as part of a fundraiser for N.Y. Military-Academy. Maybe, Tom, you can get Trump to siphon off some casino profits for our fund.

With sadness I must report the deaths of classmates. Raymond E. Stearns, May 4, 2003; Richard A. Ward, M.D., October 14, 2003; Herbert M. Lurie, June 23, 2003; Donald C. Holsworth, October 11,2003; Paul D. Malinosky, December 15, 2003; and Bernard J. Rothwell, December 18, 2003. We extend our deepest sympathies to their families.
