Don't forget the Midwest mini-reunion: Chicago June 10-13. Our winter mini-reunion and executive committee meeting were held in Hanover theweekend of February 68. About 25 people enjoyed cocktails and dinner at Jill and Jack Harned's on Friday evening, a "good bread and soup" on Saturday afternoon at Bob Kilmarx's and a large party at Pierces on Saturday night. The following is a summary of the class executive committee meeting. The meeting was called to order by Fizz Nichols, presiding in lieu of Bud Gleason, with 14 members attending. Joe Medlicott reported deaths of classmates Jack Meehan and John Beatty since the October meeting. The minutes of the October meeting were read and accepted. Treasurer Fizz Nichols reported a balance of $17,098. We had a brief discussion on declining dues in the coming years and it was decided not to change the current level of dues. Dave Taylor announced that the next fall's mini-reunion would be the weekend of October 9. The upcoming Midwest mini-reunion in Chicago, organized and chaired by Bill Carpenter, will be held June 10-13. Our 55th class reunion will be held on June 13-15,2005.
Rose Mary Lindenthal reported on the ongoing Class Outreach Program, which seems to be going well. There followed adiscussion of the advisability of continuing the February mini-reunions, with no definite conclusions or action taken. No action was taken re: the desirability of holding class dinners on successive nights.
Jack Harned, chair of our 55th reunion in 2005, outlined the plans. Chairmen of the following activities: Tom Ruggles, music; Walt Lindenthal, finance; Joel Leavitt, food; Bill Carpenter and Jacques Harlow, reunion giving; Bob Kilmarx, Gene Carver and Joe Medlicott, symposium. Extending the reunion at the Woodstock Inn was discussed and no action was taken. It was agreed we will again have the names of deceased classmates read at the memorial service. Jacques Harlow announced that the class of 1950 Web site is www.dartmouth.edu/alumni/1950. Newc Eldridge reiterated that the class has agreed to continue to support for several years the tree program now sponsored by the class of 2000.The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m. See you in Chica-go?!
