The class of 1988 certainly has its movers and shakers! In October 2003 Jevin Eagle was promoted from senior vice president of strategy to senior vice president of Staples brands. Jevin is responsible for Staples' proprietary brands worldwide. In January Elaine M. Michaud was elected as shareholder of the law firm Devine, Millimet & Branch of Manchester, New Hampshire. In February Bill Bunker became the vice president of marketing and product management for Messagegate Inc. Prior to this position Bill held several vice president positions for Onyx, worked for Apple Computer Inc., International Finance Corp. and Booz Allen & Hamilton. John Osborn was named president and CEO of BBDO New York in February, giving him the distinction of being the youngest president in BBDO's history! He was most recently executive vice president and director of integrated marketing for BBDO North America, and in 2003 he was inducted into the 2003 American Advertising Federation Hall of Achievement. Unable to attend reunion, Kim (Chaplin) Baretta took a break from writing menu proposals for her catering business to send the following: "I'm currently living in a suburb of London with my husband, Julian, and our two children, Alessandra (8) and Jules (6). After 13 years in marketing at Procter & Gamble, I left in 2001 to go to culinary school and start my own catering company; it's quite a change from the corporate world, but I am really enjoying it! I'd love to hear from old friends: garnishcatering@aol.com."
Sandy Broadus passed on some exciting news: Marianne Downie was recently engaged to Jonathan Housum '86. Bennett L. Schwartz, now an associate professor in the department of psychology at Florida International University, sent along the news that Jonathan Altman and his wife, Renata, welcomed their daughter, Marcella Eleanor Altman, on April 23.
Russell Stevens sends an update on his life: "After seven years split between New York and L.A., Jill and I moved from L.A. back to Boston about 18 months ago with our two daughters, Olivia (7) and Corinne (2). We just finished gutting an old carriage house we bought in Canton so we're now spending our weekends learning first-hand why you always connect the black wire to the black wire and the white to the white and how water will, as a matter of course, seek its lowest point, which in most cases is my basement (maybe I should've asked about the sump pump). I run the Boston office of a marketing/advertising agency, SS&K, where I've worked since 1996. We're seeing more of our Boston-area classmates, especially jill's sister, Rebecca Adams Renner, and her husband, Scott, who live in Wellesley. Doctors Walter Mutter and Cindy Korzelius live in Newton with their son, Liam. Nick and Moira Nobili are renovating their house in Eastham, Massachusetts, and trying to manage three children under 5, Colin and Maddie (twins) and Isabelle."
If you haven't sent along news since graduation, now's a great time to let others know what you're up to!
