Hey, folks, it's a light news column this time; I think we're saving it for our reunion next month! Check out our reunion Web site, www.dartmouth.org/ classes/classoo/reunionoo, to see the list of attendees or to access the schedule of events. Many of our classmates have worked very hard over the past year to put together a great weekend and I know we're all looking forward to it! If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time. Just visit the Web site to register.
Speaking of the reunion, Janelle Ruley reports that she's eagerly awaiting the event, especially because she is the reigning pong champion of her law school. She says her "skillz" are in good shape and she's looking forward to some good matches in Hanover. After the reunion Janelle will be working for the California attorney general, in the civil rights enforcement section, for her summer internship. In other news, Annie Kneedler has left the country again! She moved back to Africa in January to work on a U.S.-funded development project in Ghana. The project aims to increase exports of Ghanaian fruits and vegetables into markets in Europe and the United States. She will be living in the capital city, Accra, for the next year, but will be making the trip back to Hanover for the reunion.
I had the honor of attending the beautiful wedding of Melissa Metzler and Jesse Ryan (Princeton '00) in February. The wedding took place in snow-covered Manchester, Vermont, with many close friends in attendance. I was able to catch up with many Dartmouth folks that I hadn't seen in awhile, but if you want to know what Cabray Haines, Linda (Aucoin) Green, Carolyn Fusfeld, Kathryn Cahill, Karolyn Abram, Carolyn and Susanne Falbee, Kelly Bodio. Becca Udler, Katy (Weiss) Rubenstein and Chrissy Castro are up to, you'll have to come to the reunion! The large contingent of Dartmouth ladies made quite an impression on the dance floor (those Princeton folks have nothing on us!) and the party continued well into the night. The bride and groom made an appearance at the snowy afterparty in their wedding attire and, true to Dartmouth form, sneakers and fleeces, and participated in the post-wedding revelry that included Team Dartmouth beating all other contenders in a flip cup tournament. Jesse and Melissa honeymooned in Colorado and will be moving to the D.C. area in May. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan!
In September Emily Cooke married "the incomparable Philip Walsh. Our wedding took place here in D.C., where I'm in my second year at Georgetown Law and he works in Latin American development. The big weekend was attended by '67s and '68s all the way up to '02s, with enough Decibelles to give the band a run for its money at the reception! Phil proposed last New Year s on a surprise trip to Paris and we honeymooned this New Year's in Australia—not a bad year, we think. Second only to the thrill of getting hitched was the joy of having so many great Dartmouth alums together in one place for our wedding."
Also, Erin (McConnel) Bonwit wrote in to let me know that she and Neville Bonwit were recently married. "We were married in Palo Alto, California, on November 6,2004. Brain Demers and Ruby Chan were in the wedding party."
Lastly, congratulations to Jake Elberg, who was engaged to Lacey Phillips (UC Davis '00) in February. Jake and Lacey met while at Harvard Law School and are both currently living and practicing law in Boston. Congratulations!
That's it folks. I'm looking forward to seeing you up in Hanover and catching up in person! Until then, think Green!
