By the time you read this 2006 is already one and a half months old so "Happy New Year" and stay healthy! Thanks so much for all the news—l've got enough to write a book—but keep it coming.

It's December in New England but you can't prove it by the weather—40-plus degrees. Hate to say it, but we could use a good blizzard.

George Payne writes of his sons George and Alexander: "George is a doctor in North Carolina with two sons. Alexander won an Oscar (with writing partner) (or Sideways with Oscar nominations for best movie and best director. Among his movie credits are Citizen Ruth, Election and About Schmidt with Jack Nicholson." Manywah-hoo-wahs to George, at. al. However, I would be remiss if I didn't also mention Al Wolff's award- winning role as the hot dog vendor in his 2005 Halloween Parade. Where did all this talent come from?

Bob Southworth is spending his winter in Tequesta, Florida, where he has gone for years. Was in New Orleans with his son last year prior to its devastation—went out for social encounter and ended up with his son singing and playing the guitar while Bob played the drum accolades still coming in! Broadway is not that far away! Again, where did all this talent come from?

My thanks to all the wives and widows who took the time to write to me. The next column is devoted to you—for whatever would the Dartmouth man be without the woman in his life?!

Thoughts and prayers to the family of our classmate, W. Richard Schubart, who has passed on. ,
