This will be a little different from my usual column (Please hold the applause!) We're about to enter into the year 2006 and a very big year for our class. June 12,13 and 14 will be a celebration of our 60th reunion. Hard to believe and to be exact it's 64 years since many of us gathered at the Hanover Plain. I realize some will be unable to attend for many reasons. But please, if you can, come! It will be our "Fabulous 60th." The year comes to a close and for all of you I want to thank some people: Walt Snickenberger, about to "close out a successful five-year term as president. A thankless job and one to get other people to work, which he did. John McClintock for all his wonderful work bringing you the news. Avery time-consuming job and he's done it so well for so long. Our head agent Tom Adams. I've sung his praises before so you know how capable he's been. Jim Von Rohr and Ray Dewees. They've been working on the 60th for more than a year. Again, a lot of effort and all for what? For you to enjoy our 60th. And I must thank Adams, too, for the publicity he's done. I said "capable," above, about him. I was talking fund-raising, and he'll soon be after you again. Don Barr, who has taken care of our last three successful mini-reunions. Then there's Ralph Smith, who stepped in to fill the shoes of our late Frank Ettari as bequest chairman, and last, but by no means least, our long-time vice president, Bob Kimball, a man who throughout many years has given advice to our leaders. Bob now permanently lives in Arizona. I thought it fitting to devote a little space to thank these men and, besides, this time of year it's hard to find you. You're all beating the cold in some sunny clime. Bless you all and a happy and healthy year to all. With sadness I must report the death of classmate James G. Joiner, who died on October 15, 2005. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family.
