First item of businessour 60th reunion. Already we have 160 persons signed up and another 45 saying perhaps. Looks like we'll have a record turnout. Dates are June 12, 13 and 14. See you there. The March/April issue of the Alumni Magazine features an article, "Three Times A Coach." It's about our own Alden "Whitey" Burnham. Whitey coached soccer, lacrosse and wrestling and for 20 years was assistant director of athletics for the college. The new soccer stadium, gift of Stanley Smoyer '34, will be called Alden "Whitey" Burnham Stadium.
Found Ben Moats in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Before that in Asheville and Pinehurst, North Carolina, mostly retired, but doing a little financial consulting. Also in the West, Dick Howe, in Sequim, Washington. You can look that one up. Give you a clue. He can see Canada. Dick was a geologist, worked for oil companies, but long retired. Also an outstanding Big Green swimmer. Asked me to give regards to Luke Van Orden. Will do, next time around!
Ed Linsley, Sarasota, Florida, retired banker and one of our most traveled classmates. Came to Hanover from Three Rivers, Michigan. Then years in California, now Florida. "Though 'round the girdled earth they roam."
I learned that Dr. Milt Cooper was recently honored with a group of physicians from Fairfield County, Connecticut, who had practiced medicine for 50 years or more—and Milt's still going strong.
With sadness I must inform that these classmates have died: Francis J. Cox, December 6,2005; John V. Underhill, December 8,2005; Stephen M. Olko, December 2,2005; Dr. Arthur Naitove, December 30,2005; Edward D. Lane- Reticker, December 13,2005; James G. Pulliam, December 27,2005; Dr. Channing M. Bowen, December 6, 2005; and Harry D. Tietjen, November 5,2005. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
