It's "All systems go!" now for our big 55th class reunion, which convenes in Hanover on June 12, hardly a month away! Deadlines forced this writing too early to give you the latest total expected to attend, but you should have received a reasonably current list in recent mailings from the College, and the list on the class Web site (www.dartmouth.org/classes/51/) should be right up to date. If old friends you would like to meet in Hanover are missing from these lists, call them up and urge them to get on board. The big day is approaching fast, but there is still time to sign up and to (by separate mail) reserve housing in the fine East Wheelock dorms. At least two copies of the registration envelope for sending in your deposit should have reached your mailbox by now, in addition to the form for reserving dorm rooms. If none is at hand, contact reunion chair Loye Miller (603-298-5878; loye1(pverizon. net), let him know you want to attend and he'll help you get things organized.

You've also received copies of the schedule for our Monday-Thursday gathering and it too can be viewed on the class Web page. In addition to festive dinners Monday (Baker Library lawn), Tuesday (the Bema) and Wednesday (Dartmouth Skiway Lodge), we'll be lunching Tuesday in most pleasant surroundings, the outdoor terrace of the Hanover Inn looking out on the Green. That luncheon will be preceded by our traditional memorial service in Rollins Chapel, for which our dependable clergyman classmates Dick Bucey and Bill Leffler once again have prepared a fine order of service. George Biggs is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to field a choir of former glee-clubbers and other 51s in good voice.

For all reunion attendees during this weekday stretch the College has laid on a program highlighted by a state-of-the-college report from President Jim Wright and substantial sessions with other Dartmouth leaders in academics, athletics, admission and administration. And be sure to consider attending the Reunion College lectures by distinguished faculty members on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Lecture subjects are "Hiking and Learning on the Inca Trail," "Globalization, Outsourcing,

Higher Education and the Tools Needed to Succeed in Today's World," "What Does Dartmouth Do to Stay Strong, on Top of Its Game?" "Democracy: Does Anyone Really Know What It Is and How It Came Into Being?"

Not attending our reunion is Russ Dilks, who has a very good excuse. Last year he became unconscious in his home and was revived by police. He has been in an assisted living facility ever since. Phone calls to (973) 377-7797 and mail to Sunrise Assisted Living, 215 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ 07940 will be welcome. Peter Dallman, who has missed all reunions since the 25th, will attend this one. He's retired but his wife, Mary, also an M.D., still does research as a professor of physiology at UC-San Francisco. After the reunion she will be a speaker at a Boston medical conference.
