The year 1958-59 blossoms bright and clear. A momentous time for the Class of 1945. The fifteenth reunion is but a few months away so, one and all, make your plans accordingly. This will be the best yet and no one wants to miss out. Much hard work and careful planning has already been put forth and more is to come in order to make this reunion as attractive and successful as human hands can. Reunion Chairman Joe Michaels is busier than a flea on a hot plate arranging, organizing, ordering, planning, assembling, writing, urging, cajoling, etc. It almost becomes one's duty to attend out of respect for Chairman Joe's efforts. Seriously, though, now is the time to begin thinking about next June's get-together. Decide affirmatively now, save your pennies, and when the time rolls around, you'll be ready to embark Hanover-wards. As the year moves on, Joe will speak to you himselfthrough the medium of the Class Newsletter, bringing you up to date on developments and arrangements, and telling you howand when to make your applications.

The ALUMNI MAGAZINE has urged greatercooperation between the newsletter and thiscolumn in the interests of economy. Theywould like this effort to be more concise andconstructed of material of interest to notonly the Class of 1945 but also all Dartmouthmen in general. The Secretaries Associationhas agreed to bend its efforts in that direction. The outcome will hopefully be some-what shorter class columns, but of a finerquality. There will probably be a certainamount of duplication between what I putout and what Dave Hewitt sends your wayin the "Mailcall." My material will stressthe fact of the circumstance while Dave willgive you more of the details.

Allen was recently promoted to the position of Vice President of the Eaton Brothers Corp. of Hamburg, N. Y. The Young Democratic Club of Springfield, Mass., has elected Jerry Farrell as their President. And to end up this endeavour I report the activities of one of our female associates, Helen, wife of Eliot Mover. "As you may know, I go to Tuck School several times a year and lecture to classes there. However, this time my wife turned the tables on me. She was invited to lecture to the wives of the business school students. She delivered a most interesting, both serious and humorous, talk on The Role of the Executive's Wife (or the Power behind the Drone)'." From all I've heard the lecture was a monument of good, hard, practical advice spiced with strategically placed bits of humor and levity. Congratulations, Helen.

A short reminder that fall brings Treasurer Oldfield knocking at your door. What with higher postage rates and such, don't turn him away. He, and the Class, need your help.
