And the news keeps rolling in: (Leslie) Brandi Jones Salomone wrote in to report that she delivered her second child, Matthew "Gavin" Salomone, this past July. Matthew joins Mom, Dad, and his 3-year-old big sister Riley in Charlottesville, where Brandi is finishing training in endocrinology and her husband is completing anesthesia training. In June the family will move to Jacksonville, Florida, where the Drs. Salomone will both enter private practice. Brandi would love to hear from any alums in Jacksonville and can be reached at brandijky@hotmail.com.

Andrew Bennett e-mailed to say that he and his wife, Tamara, live in Seattle and are expecting their first child in March. Despite the winter season Andrew is probably sporting quite a tan since his company, Deneki Outdoors, owns and operates fly-fishing lodges in Alaska and the Bahamas. Andrew started Deneki in 2003 after a nine-year stint at Onyx Software, which was started by two '92s. Remember him for your next outdoor adventure!

Andrea Useem and her husband Justin, are proud to announce that Moses Olson joined the family on New Year's Eve and was welcomed at home by the couples sons Zakariah (4) and Adam (2). As soon as Andrea starts getting some more sleep, she's looking forward to returning to her work of reporting on religion for local and national newspapers. (Andrea and her family live in Reston, Verginia.) By the way, at 11 pounds, Moses made quite an entrance into the world.

Sasha Verkh, Todd Haskell and their son Jordan (nearly 4) also have baby news—a second son, Rory, was born in December. The family is in the process of moving from L.A. to Seattle, where Todd has just accepted a professorship at Western Washington University. They would love for any Seattle or NW Washington alums to look them up. (Andrew, that means you!)

Though she didn't write in about it, my Upper Valley spies tell me that Kirsten Glass was recently profiled in the Valley News. The author of the February 5 story, "Day in the Life of a Large- Animal Vet," shadowed Kirsten for a day as she saw to her patients (mostly horses) and tended to her family, husband Brian Spence and their 11-month-old daughter Fiona.

Also in the spotlight is Brian White, who plays Patrick Thomas in the recently released movie The Family Stone. In case you didn't catch it in the theater, the DVD release date for the movie is May 2.

And Shara Frase wrote in right before my deadline with a lot of news that I'll cover in my next column. For now I'll let you know that, as a litigation associate at Heller Ehrman in N.Y.C., she was recently within spitting distance of Justices Scalia and Ginsburg at a U.S. Supreme Court argument. Did she or did she not expectorate? What is federal prison really like? Tune in next time to find out.

And finally, a plea. Not for news—that's been coming in quite steadily (although I'm always happy to get more)—no, this is a sartorial request. Whenever you buy a new coat or jacket, please check the vent to see if there's an X-shaped basting thread that needs to be removed. As a "detail-oriented" (read: anal) person, it drives me absolutely nuts to see a person with a stitched-together vent and not know how to approach him or her in a polite, nonstalking manner about the situation. So, please save me the agony and do a quick vent check on your wardrobe.
