Bill Berenson reports "some improvement" in his dad's condition. He and Stan are planning to be with us in Hanover on September 29 and 30 for our mini-reunion.

Dr. Brewer Doran, daughter of late President Ben, will be one of our speakers. And I hope to persuade an admissions officer to explain our puzzling policies. In our area they admitted a boy who may not commit, and denied four top students whom we adored. The alumni admissions officer for Florida commiserates with us: "I am a third generation Dartmouth grad, but they denied my son. He is now the first-string quarterback for Clemson."

The copy of our June 1937 class book that Olive Tardiff saved has wound up in the Rauner Library archives. Gordon Bennett and Joe Kiernan were our presidents; Latta McCray, vice president; Don McKinlay, secretary; and Art Ruggles, treasurer. The executive committee included Areson, Berkowitz, Bialla, Geraghty, Mclntyre, Sloggett and Young—almost all gone now.

Bill Leonard was the Sachem Orator. I just learned that Bill was the stepfather of Chris Wallace, the son of just-retired Mike Wallace of CBS.

Back to the present and future: I see vice president Hank Doremus every Thursday at our Rotary club. He is a loyal champion of the nearby Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, which does important ocean research on promising sources of drugs and also promotes aquaculture, particularly saltwater species that can be farmed in fresh water. The wave of the future is happening right here.
