All out for the mini-reunion in Hanover on September 30 and October 1. The date and details have been cleared with Berenson, Brown, Collis, Blaisdell, Koop, Rotch, Doremus and yours truly, plus our exceptional others.

Stan's health is still uncertain, but son Bill hopes that he and his dad will be able to be with us. Agenda: two sumptuous dinners planned by Ellen Collis, breakfast and class meeting Saturday a.m. and the football game at 12:30 p.m.

The football game and rooms are on you, but $125 per person will cover everything else (I hope!). Please make your check payable to "Class of 1937" and mail to Sue Young in 6068 Blunt Alumni Center, Hanover, NH 03755.

The development office has asked me to serve as our gifts and bequests chairman. I apologize for accepting, but we are down to a handful of possibilities and those generous classmates who are richer than I am have already served. I can and will write a very persuasive letter.

Recommended reading: a wonderful new biography, American Traveler: The Life and Adventures ofJohn Ledyard, by James Zug '91. Ledyard was even more courageous and persistent than reported in his legend, and he earned the support and friendship of Jefferson, Franklin, Lafayette, Robert Morris and Captain Cook. The Ledyard Canoe Club perpetuates and honors his name, and it deserves expanded facilities and solid financial support from the College and from friends.

Personal boast department: Two girls from our local high school—Bernadette Durr and Teresa Lattanzio—have been accepted in the Dartmouth class of 2009. They'll be my guests at a reunion dinner.
