Hmm...not too much news to print! Keep the letters coming, please.
The two letters I did get are, of course, excellent. It's just that I want more, more, more!
Lynn-Marie Sederlof-Airisto and her husband, Timo, sent the wonderful news of the birth of their second child. Sylvia Francesca was born last November 8 and joins her older brother Niklas, who on April 4 turned 3. Among other advantages of living in Helsinki, Lynn-Marie writes, is that "Finnish law allows one parent to stay home until the youngest child's third birthday, while guaranteeing that their job (or a comparable one) will be waiting for them when they return to work. So I have decided to really let myself enjoy motherhood this time, and am taking at least two years off work to stay at home. It has been wonderful so far—especially compared to the always-in-a-hurry feeling I had when I went back to work when Niklas was 16 months old." That sounds fabulous. Lynn-Marie promised acraclding, warm fire to anyone visiting Helsinki.
And I got news from the class of '93's greatest contributor, Bridget Eng Calhoun. "Donna Mulvihill got engaged a few months ago to James Fehrmann. They met at a bar (where else!) in St. Michael's, Maryland, where they will be tying the knot on June 24.1 guess that leaves me only two months to fill James in on all of Donnas wild exploits at Dartmouth." I hope Bridget leaves some mystery for James to discover on his own.
"Sue Walther King just had her second little girl, Katherine (Katie) Ella King born on April 22. Katie joins big sister Hayley, who just turned 3. Sue, her husband, Joe, and their two girls live in Arlington, Virginia. About a year ago Jennifer Schwartz and her husband Josh Goldwert, moved from Bethesda, Maryland, to Philadelphia, where Jen is now an in-house attorney at Merck."
Despite all the flux Bridgetwrites in to report, she admits to stasis on the home front. "No major life-changing events on my end these days. I'm still plugging away parttime as an antitrust lawyer at Crowell & Moring in D.C. and enjoying the craziness of two active little boys, Luke (31/2) and Jamie (16 months)."
And that's all the news for now. Please refill the mailbag!
