Jennifer Leigh Warren was highlighted in Variety for her show-stomping performance in Black is the Color that opened on May 12. Jennifer received e-mails and calls from classmates and others who saw or read about her performance on opening night. Jennifer sends her thanks to those who made it to the show and for their kind e-mails and calls. Both shows were sold-out and the first night was standing room only. I read the review in Variety and certainly Jennifer lives up to her reputation as a diva.

After about five years as apolitical appointee at the U.S. Department of the Interior, Scott Cameron has started another career adventure. In March Scott joined Grant Thornton LLP, as a director in its global public sector consulting practice in Alexandria, Virginia. This is Scott's first experience with management consulting and his first experience with a partnership ownership model, so there is a lot to learn! Scott's goal is to help federal agencies and executives become more effective and efficient. According to Scott, "I am enjoying the freedom of a bit less bureaucracy than I recently experienced in the federal government and am finally learning how to golf, which approaches being the firm religion." Excellent perspective.

Richard Brynteson is an associate professor of organizational management at Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota. He takes a unique perspective in his new book, Once Upon a ComplexTime: Using Stories to Understand Systems. He reverses the traditional methodology by using stories to illuminate complex systems theory. Brynteson's systems stories invite the reader to examine ourselves and actions, to understand the complexities of life and to begin to use a wide-angle lens when viewing the world. Once Upon a Complex Time challenges the reader to look at organizations— and life—in a whole new way. His book became available May 1.
