Well some of you must have heard the desperation in my last column, because this month my e-mailbag runneth over. A big thank you to everyone who wrote in and please, keep it up!
In May Andrew and I enjoyed a visit from David S. Cohen, his wife, Cassie Ehrenberg'96, and their son Joshua Ehrenberg Cohen (and future Danny Hyman classmate?), who was born in February. We saw David and Cassie often when we were living in Philadelphia and even in Los Angeles and have often relied upon their hospitality, so we were thrilled to host them in our new home. Until recently David was working as a staff attorney with the Women's Law Project in Philadelphia and teaching courses in sex discrimination at Penn Law School and School of Arts and Sciences. Starting this fall David will be one of the inaugural faculty members at Drexel University's new College of Law. David will teach courses in constitutional law and civil rights and he'll also help establish the college's public interest programs. Drexel is near and dear to my heart, as I worked there for three years, so I couldn't be happier for or prouder of David as he embarks on a full-time academic career there; my hearty congratulations on both the job and Josh!
In more Philly news—Dr. Vijay Shankaran has been named a security analyst/portfolio manager in the growth equity investing team at Turner Investment Partners. Based outside of Philadelphia in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Turner Investment Partners manages $21 billion in assets. Vijay will help cover the health care sector of the stock market for Turners institutional growth-stock portfolios and mutual funds. Before joining Turner Vijay was a research analyst at Caxton Associates.
And yet more classmates for Danny! I received word that Jordan Frank and his wife, Laura, are the "proud happy and exhausted parents" of Maxwell Frank, who was born March 7. Writes Jordan, "He didn't come out wearing green, but we are working on that!"
I also put new mom Shauna Fitzgibbons to work for me sussing out some more '94 birth news. She reports in that Christina Hieber and husband Bill Johnson of McLean, Virginia, had daughter Katherine Sylvia Hieber Johnson on November 4. Christina is an intellectual property attorney at Finnegan Henderson in Washington, D.C.And Kelly (Just) Tanenholz and her husband, David, had son Ryan Justin Tanenholz on April 26. Kelly is a physician practicing internal medicine in Maryland. Thanks, Shauna!
A big thank you also to my fellow Dartmouth executive committee members who took pity on me and sent in updates. Chris Barrel writes in that he and his wife, Darcey, had their third child on March 23; "Tess Pryor Bartel is doing great and her sister Kendall (3) and brother Carter (1) are very excited to have a new sister to boss around. I'm still at Fidelity Investments in Boston and Darcey has been home with the kids since Carter came along." The growing Bartel family resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Class president Ken Davis was also kind enough to write in. "Laura Lee and I have two girls. The oldest, Kaylee, is just finishing up kindergarten this year. Naturally, she's a genius (and I'm not even biased). Ouryoungest just turned 3 and is definitely the mischievous one who gets into everything." Thanks, Ken!
That's all for now. So until next time...
