I must start my reign as class secretary by saying a huge thank you to Nihad Farooq. She did such a wonderful job writing the column all these years that I thought it looked like fun. And before you all get too sad at the changing of the guard, rest assured that I've been clever enough to already beg her to write a guest column in the near future.

I know Nihad filled you all in on what I've been up to in the last column, but now it's confession time. That was the first time I ever wrote in. So if you too are a reluctant writer, stop waiting for that next big promotion and just drop me a line. I found out that as secretary I also have the power to reconnect you with classmates outside of the column—so if you missed the big reunion and are looking for a long-lost friend, send me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do.

Living in N.Y.C. can be tough, but every once in awhile you have one of those cool only-in-N.Y. experiences that makes it all seem worth it. I had one this January on the 86 cross-town bus, when I looked up and saw Dominique Ellner! We hadn't seen each other in more than 10 years and were very happy to get reacquainted. Dominique was kind enough to summarize the past several years for me: "I'm working at Computer Associates as a market analyst and will continue to do so in England. Just married July 3 and leaving with new hubbie, Daniel Goldstein, for London, as he'll be teaching M.B.A. students marketing at London Business School." I happen to know that since graduation she also received her M.B.A. from Harvard. I'm happy to report Dominique has settled into London and will be responding to her Dartmouth e-mail if anyone wishes to reconnect.

Unfortunately, I had another wedding to attend over the July 4th weekend, so I missed Dominique's, though I did make it to the shower. However, I heard Orit Halpern was there so I wrote her to get the scoop. Orit is completing her Ph.D., also at Harvard, in the history of science. "My work is actually in histories of film and computing or, more to the point, the relationship between them." Before enrolling at Harvard Orit earned a degree in epidemiology and public health, ran clinical trials, worked with "all sorts of stuff with technology in non-governmental organizations" and spent time in South Asia working for the World Bank and Harvard.

I also heard Greg Park was recognized as a rising star in the world of capital markets in Euroweek magazines "Celebration of Excellence" issue. After holding a position as head of Asian securitization at Credit Suisse First Boston, Park became the head of securitization, ex-Japan division, at Calyon in July 2004. He currently resides in Admiralty, Hong Kong, with his wife, Carol Lee, who was kind enough to write in with the news.

And Renn J. Turner received a master of divinity and the Kenyon J. Wildrick Award for Excellence in Homiletics from Princeton Theological Seminary last May. Next Renn will participate in a one-year internship program at East Woods Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Washington.

Wow, 600 words isn't so bad after all. I'm moving this week—yes, again—but this time only to Westchester. So next time, the news from Tarrytown.
