Not much news today, though a whole lot of impending birth announcements—so stay tuned for lots of "green" babies next column. Linda Serotta, Judd Serotta's wife, was kind enough to thank me for my recent write-up about Judd's promotion. She also let me know that Grant Bosse recently stopped by their house and that he is running for Congress as a Republican in New Hampshire. The primary is in September. Thanks, Linda! For anyone interested, his Web site is http://bosse2008.blogspot.com.

I also heard that Julia Caputo Stift was recently elected a partner at Nossaman Guthner Knox & Elliott LLP, a California-based national law firm specializing in infrastructure, complex civil litigation, land use, environmental, real property, water, health care, corporate transactions and public policy law. A member of Nossamans business and corporate transactions practice group in Los Angeles, Julia handles federal, state and local income tax matters and state property and sales tax matters for foreign and domestic clients. Her practice emphasizes issues relating to tax-exempt entities, transactional and tax planning matters. She also provides legal counsel regarding taxable and tax-free mergers, acquisitions and divisions, the tax consequences of public and private offerings of equity and debt, real estate exchanges and issues unique to tax-exempt entities such as unrelated business taxable income issues and lobbying and political activity issues.

I'm pretty sure Julia was my ice skating teacher back in college—or at least, she would have been if I'd been able to drag myself out of bed to make it to Thomson Arena at the ungodly hour of 10 a.m. often enough to get gym credit that term. Oops. Congratulations, Julia!

And congratulations are also in order for Alissa Peck Fader and her husband, Jeremy. "On March 13 at 8:30 a.m. Jeremy and I became proud parents of a beautiful little girl. Amanda Cate Fader at birth weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches long. Mom, dad and baby are all doing well and relishing our new roles in the world." I remember meeting up with Alissa for a meal in N.Y.C. after reconnecting at the last reunion. I think she and Jeremy had just started dating—and now they're parents! Amazing. If I were less tired I'm sure I'd have something deep and meaningful to add, but pretty much I'm going to close George Costanza-style: "Thank you and good night!"
