The incoming mail was a little light so I had to use Ma Bell/Verizon to get some news from the 41s. Jim Eckels, our hard-working head agent, responded from Riverton, Utah, where he lives in a condo. Jim no longer skis but he keeps in shape with walking and cycling. His wife, Jean, is confined to a wheelchair but she valiantly exercises daily with a rowing machine. Jim and I last met in Paris, where we were stationed during WWII. We both were recalled to active duty for the Korean conflict. Al Ferguson, retired medical doctor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, received a recent award for his contribution to orthopedic surgery. Louise gets her awards on the golf course while Al keeps an eye on his red oak and sugar maple trees, sold for a furniture manufacturer. Lee Grace hails from Casper, Wyoming, where he has resided for 50 years. He and his wife, Barbara, are in good health and enjoy traveling and hiking in the mountains. Lee is semiretired after a long career in the oil business. Unfortunately, he doesn't find any Dartmouth men in those "wide open spaces." Pete Keir in Alexandria, Virginia, still plays tennis every week. He is fully retired from Federal Reserve Board and American Council of Life Insurance. Unhappily, his wife, Joyce, is suffering with a back problem. Dick Krolik is another resident of the Washington, D.C., area. He had a long career in radio and TV, including work for Time-Life, NBC and the Pave Garroway show. Dick has a son Jeff who was in the Dartmouth class of '78. Bill Hotling in the Kendal Apartments in Hanover gets around in an electric cart, which limits his ability to continue volunteer work. Among the many construction projects in Hanover Bill happily reports that the east stand in the football field now gives him easier access to view the games.
