John Richardson still sounds active and perky. He lives in Kendal at Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, a brother of Hanover's Kendal. He stills"drives but with company. Last summer he toured upstate New York with a nephew, starting from Oswego, his father's birthplace, and including Cooperstown, of course. A traveling guy. Russia earlier last year. Tennis was long ago, but he may play his annual round of golf—tricky without his cane.
I chatted with Jack George, who is in a fullcare facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts, close by his college hometown, Haverhill. He participates in the frequent activities provided, although when I called it was listed as a "Nothing-to-do" day. He says he is active and living fine but mostly limited to a wheelchair.
Bob Ackerberg says he's "feeling pretty good," gets plenty of exercise on his walker and still is an avid reader—books and papers as well as TV. He's in a retirement facility but misses Gerri.
Whit Daniels is nowin a nursing home in Glen Falls, New York. The staff is excellent, food is good and he's happy. His son is only 35 minutes away.
Ned Disque is still taking it day by day, lunching out with Peg daily, shopping and the usual errands plus relaxing like Bob with reading and TV. Their perch in Colorado Springs happily has snow by the inch, not by the foot.
A Summit, New Jersey, Historical Society's newsletter focuses on Morry Hubbard's great generosity to the town where he has lived all his life.
