A belated happy new year to you all, and since I was adamant about reporting the Steelers triumphs last year, I will admit this past season they were anything but stellar. So now it's time to start focusing on baseball. I predict the Orioles over the Red Sox for the American League pennant!
Megan Riley wrote awhile back to say, "Matt Kenney '04 and I were married in Madison, Connecticut, on August 18 and had our reception at St. Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut. Lots of Dartmouth people attended, including bridesmaids Lindsay Hirschfeld, Sarah Murray and Sonja Tonnesen as well as Travis D'Amato, Rebecca and Dan Galemba, Kiki Frantz, Erik Carlson, Kristen White '04, Kristen LeFevre 02, Steve Sliva '02, Scott Gilbert '04, Alex Otero '04 and Barry Grove '73. It was wonderful to having so many good friends to celebrate with and, from what I saw, it looked like they were having a great time! In other news, I graduated from William and Mary Law in May. I accepted a position with the Treasury Department for my presidential management fellowship and started work just a few days ago. I'm officially living in the D.C. area and am looking forward to seeing everyone who is here."
I also heard from Alicia Willson about her wedding. "I married Phil Grossmann, a University of Texas at Austin alum, on September 23, in Salado, Texas. Dartmouth alums in attendance were Rod Beaton, Keith Burdette, Sara Baron, Katie Blye, Rachel Wolfe, Clara Lee, Todd Robinson and Melissa Fedders '02. It was amazing to have so many of our Dartmouth friends fly down to Texas for the wedding! We went to Maui for our honeymoon, and now we are settling into married life and learning how to cook."
Finally, I heard from my old chemistry buddy John Jewett. "I like being able to read up on you and other '03s in the alum magazine and I figured that it's probably time for me to speak up a bit. I'm still in Chicago working on my Ph.D. in organic chemistry. The bigger news is that I recently got married on September 30 to Laura Ellis, a UCSD graduate I met in Chicago. A number of Dartmouth people were there: Andrew Haringer, Colin McGlynn, Jen Pascucci,Anna Serotta, Abby Drevs, Gino Beniamino '04, K.J. Hennessey-Severson '02, Sarah Craft Lawrie '01, James Noonan '01, Jim McNicholas '01, James Lawrie '00, Anne Bellerose '05 and Matthew Dickerson '85, who played the guitar for our ceremony. We had our honeymoon in southern Spain, which was beautiful."
I would also like to mention that Harry Hampton 45 personally congratulated our class for hitting a high in Alumni Fund participation. So keep up the good work, and keep the updates coming. Remember, you don't have to be getting married to be newsworthy! If you can believe it, our five-year reunion is only one year away, so stay tuned for more information on local events in addition to all the fun being planned at Dartmouth.
