Robert W. Page is our newsmaker this issue.

First, there is the matter of his newborn son (that's right, son) Nathaniel Thompson Paige, whom Grace and Bob welcomed to the world on Valentines Day of 2007! "I cannot even calculate what Dartmouth year that will be and much less the tuition by that time," Bob admits.

Checking in at 9 pounds, 11 ounces, Nathaniel may already be on the athletic department's recruiting radar. And, of course, Bob is rightfully staking his claim as oldest '66 to be a new dad. All contenders are welcome and new entries are encouraged!

Bobs an example that careers keep growing and evolving. He has followed his instincts and talents from a Peace Corps volunteer stint in the ministry of housing in Chile (Chuck Forester was also there) to being founder of an international consulting company helping emerging nations build viable justice systems.

Armed with masters degrees in regional planning from the University of North Carolina (where his classmates included Tim Urban, Hank Sharpe and Jeff Swain '64) and public administration from Harvard's Kennedy School, Bob followed his Peace Corps years by starting in the early 1970s a San Francisco-based company that specialized in court modernization. That led to senior court administration positions as the district executive of the Federal Courts of New York City (southern district) and the state court administrator for the State of California.

That brings us to DPK Consulting, a San Francisco firm formed 15 years ago by Bob and a former Peace Corps and court administrator colleague that focuses on improving the rule of law in developing and transitioning countries. DPK Consulting now is working in the worlds hot spots such as the West Bank and Gaza, Serbia, lots of Latin American countries and others, contributing to creating more just societies in those countries. "It is a constant and evolving challenge, " Bob admits. Along the way he has run into Big Greeners Geoff keane in Guatemala and Tom Peeples '67 in Bulgaria, among others.

A passionate and talented lifelong athlete, Bob has played with basketball teams on many continents and, as he says, 'Along the way, I got into the running craze." For sure. He's finished 10 marathons, including two 50K races.

Bob heads east every summer to northern Vermont, where he visits with Bill and Barb Duval. Chances are he'll stop off in Hanover in the next few months, just to show Nathaniel Lou's and the Bookstore—and maybe shoot a few hoops.

Send along your latest exploits and enjoy the summer.
