Summer is just beginning here in the Pacific Northwest, and what better time to send in some news and catch up with classmates? We'd love to hear what you are doing.

Here's a bit more news from Paula Zagrecki that couldn't fit in the last issue: "Sam Hankins is also in the New York area. She lives with husband Billy and sons Wilson and Jackson. She just changed jobs—she was at the NYSE and is now with Deutsche Bank in the audit division. Caroline (McKeldin) Wayner lives in Baltimore with husband Peter and her kids Claire and Charlie. Pam (Crisafulli) Hommeyer is living with husband John Hommeyer; she is a full-time mom to Trent and Chase and he's working for Clorox."

Todd J. Zywicki is still a law professor at George Mason University School of Law. He writes, "For the fall 2007 semester I'll be a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University Law School. My wife, Kim (William & Mary '89), and I have a daughter Claire, born August 2005, who is just delightful—sweet, gentle, playful and just starting to talk. In June I'll be giving a speech in Iceland on competition policy and my wife is coming with me, so that's our big upcoming travel. I have contracts to write two books, one on consumer bankruptcy and consumer credit to be published by Yale University Press and one coursebook on law and public choice to be published by West Publishing. These are my first books, so needless to say the whole concept is still somewhat intimidating.

"Just last week I caught up with Patrick Rutty, who was in town as the chaperone for his son's fifth-grade class trip. He lived in Saudi Arabia for several years and is back now and living in Denver with his wife and three kids. I saw Rick Watson a few months ago. He is doing great, living outside Boston and has two adorable daughters who have dramatically cut into his golf time. Alex Azar spent several years in senior Bush administration positions, first as general counsel of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and then as deputy secretary. He stepped down from the position last month and so now I actually get to see him every once in awhile.

"Stephen Smith and I are both law professors and have kept in contact since graduation. It has been great to get back to Dartmouth regularly as part of my trustee duties (Stephen has just recently been elected to the board as well). The College has reached an agreement with Zeta Psi to finally re-recognize it, with the first rush to be in fall 2009."

Julie (Clyma) DiRemigio and husband Dair welcomed their daughter Cassidy Frances DiRemigio on Friday, February 16. She joins her brother Gibbs (18 months) in this lacrosse/rug-by-loving family.

And with the space that remains, my own news of life changes: My husband, Dave, and I were excited by a call on February 28 from our adoption agency after just four months in the waiting pool. For those of you who have experienced the adoption process, you know it is time-consuming but incredibly rewarding. On March 1 we drove to Oregon to meet a 51/2-month-old boy and his birthmother. The next day, on March 2, Asher Tavarri Stevens became our son. Now 9 months old and a bundle of energy, we are just starting to settle in to the sudden but profound world of parenthood. A key piece to Asher s story though, is that after several years of infertility, Dave and I were happily surprised at the end of January to find out we were pregnant, due in early October (Asher and his sibling-to-be will be just one year apart)!
