Julie Shuer wrote with news about her husband, Steve Davis, and their family. Julie and Steve met as volunteers at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and married the following year. Steve had graduated from law school at UCLA in 1977 and was practicing law. Today he is a partner with the litigation boutique firm of Gaims, Weil, West and Epstein. After graduating from Sweet Briar College in Virginia Julie had moved to California to study at USC, where she earned a masters degree in occupational therapy. Steve and Julie have three children. Benji attends George Washington University but is studying abroad this year at Pembroke College of Cambridge University. Gaby will attend Pitzer College next year. Sofia is a freshman in high school at home in Los Angeles. Steve was a four-year member of the Dartmouth tennis team and still plays tennis regularly. He would love to meet up with anyone from our class on the court or in court. Steve, Julie, and their kids are avid travelers, especially to Israel, and will be visiting Prague and Budapest this spring.
David Marston received a Christmas card from Lex McCusker at the Stevens Institute of Technology and sent me the link to Lex's biography and e-mail address on the institutes Web site. Lex kindly responded with plentiful details to my request for news. At Stevens Lex is dean of the school of technology management, which offers business education at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels with a specialty in technology-based innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship. Lex joined Stevens two years ago after spending more than 20 years at AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Bell Laboratories, mostly in technology management. Lex met his wife, Susan (Brown '75), while they were both in graduate school in experimental psychology at the University of Texas in Austin, where Lex earned his PhD. Susan is very active in the local schools. She recently finished a 10-year stint on the Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, board of education and also trains new school board members and presidents on behalf of the New Jersey School Boards Association. Lex and Susan have two daughters, Mallory and Claire. Claire is in her second year at Yale Law School and recently did research there with faculty member Kate Stith '73. Lex also sent along a picture of himself with Bruce Sanborn, Joe Younger, Tom Kent '72, Richard Hefler '72, David Clark 73, Chuck Higdon '73, Mark Ditmar '75 and Mark McAleenan '75, who gathered last summer for a small reunion at Bruce's house on White Bear Lake in Minnesota.
Please send news about yourself and our classmates.
