Jack Kornfield, a Buddhist teacher from Marin County in California, was among the lead protesters of the Olympic torch relay at the Golden Gate Bridge in April. Jack was featured in the Jan/Feb DAM "Continuing Ed" column that described his living a mindful life. Robert Piampiano of Yarmouth, Maine, wrote of his attendance (with his wife, Brenda) at the 200 th anniversary celebration of the Dartmouth College Grant. The College hosted a get together full of nostalgia and memories. The late Ross McKinney sent his old friend Jean Baptiste to tell a few stories. Robert has practiced law in Maine since 1977 (he earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School). He has been named to the Best Lawyers in America editions in 2002-03 and 2003-04. Robert serves as a visiting instructor at the University of Maine School of Law. Active in environmental affairs, he has served on the Land Use Regulation Commission's lakes advisory committee.

F. Beirne Lovely Jr. of Milton, Massachusetts, who served as a senior partner with Goodwin Procter LLP in its Boston office since 1976, has a new appointment as the general counsel for the Archdiocese of Boston. Beirne had previous experience under fire from 1967 to 1972, when he was a Marine Corps infantry officer in Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart and decorations for heroism on three occasions. He served on the Milton School committee and was involved with Peace Games as special pro bono legal counsel. Beirne was managing editor of the Boston University Law Review during law school. The work with the archdiocese is a continuation of his community and church service.

Sad to report the death of William "Woody" Reed Hayes Jr., who passed away at his home in Hampton, New Hampshire. Woody made all the reunions. He loved the College, his family and life. He will be missed.
