James Clark Barrett, the "Shorty," paid us a brisk and pleasant visit and revealed in many modest ways that he is one of the nation's top merchandising men in the retail trade. Ole McCormick-Spices-himself is still single and we doubt he'll show up hitched by the 25th.

Say ... it's only a month away now. Frick,Dawkins and I were talking about it in the New York Club just a spell back ... at least Dawk and King yakked while that wise man, Frick, listened. Lou is moving to Atlanta for Conover-Nast any week now, which means that he leaves Bob Harvey to take on Lou Fortuna, who's doing great things for Hanover down the Southern Capitol way.

Jim Carpenter's Insurance Agency in Hartford has joined the Insurance Center, a giant underwriter's co-op. Dr. Bud Lynch honored by Sports Illustrated for Grad's All-American at 25-year-out-point. JimGolden, top businessman and civic leader in Marlboro, Mass., recently named head of local Hospital Building Committee. Ted andPeg Hunter, our Tex and Jinks, reaping top architectural recognitions. Larry Laughlin heads Teddy Kennedy's Boston PR and political relations in the Boston office. AugieHennessey leaves United Community Services in Troy, N.Y., to head Federation of Catholic Charities in Montreal.

Doctor Hank McDuff will be at Reunion with or without bride and young Charlotte and Hank Jr. Indicated he got inspired at Yale game. Russell and "Rusty" Dow still mushing it in Alaska, building own home, and having to pass up reunion this time because he is on a new job in the electric power business. Blair Warner anxious to see Bob Cheheyl at Reunion. Johnny Johnson and Bob Reeve will be aboard ... come June. The old sprinter is running fast still as Texaco's foreign sales mogul spending much time in South America. He recently saw John Jova at U. S. Embassy, Santiago where the latter is doing a fine job.

Retired Colonel Charlie Hathaway is with the Howard E. Nyhart Co. as a consultant in employee benefits, Indianapolis. Sees McMurtrle, and will be at the Big One.

We regret to report that Ann, the wife of Frank Doane, an old friend, died suddenly in January. There are two sons, George and Robert.

George Wheelock and Blair Warner get together occasionally. Retired from the retail business, George is the dad of four; Mary, U. of Indiana, Sara, Kathryn and George Jr.

Dan Marshall and Jack Scarborough pal it out in Austin, Tex., and Dan will tell you all about it at Reunion. Fran Reilly has sent in a whole column. Since he sent Dawkins a copy, we'll just cream it. He and Beverly with young ones, Martha and John, will be at the Juner. He's legal with Swift, or visa versa. Johnny Bowles is a top broadcaster on Station KNBR, San Francisco.

Howie Casler moved back to Rumson, N.J. Still with Warner Lambert in Morris Plains, N.J., and travels world-wide.

That's about it for now. Try to remember Dartmouth's need with a gift to the 25th Anniversary Fund, and by all means, make it to Reunion with the gang.
