From Pinos Altos, New Mexico, George Dalphin writes proudly that his granddaughter has been playing on the women's basketball first team for the past two seasons. Dr. Ted Clark's widow, Gail, writes from Pinehurst, North Carolina, that in order to keep active and alert she has enrolled full time in barbering school. Alan Hall, after 20 years in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, is planning to move in the spring to Thornton Oaks, a retirement community in Brunswick, Maine, near the Bowdoin campus. In the meantime he expects to enjoy beach time with his family on Sanibel Island, Florida, in March. We learned only recently of the death of William Wallace of East Barrington, New Hampshire. He joined the class in the Marine V-12 unit, graduated from Beloit College and earned an M.S. from the University of Wisconsin. He was a professor of geography at the University of New Hampshire and died on October 29, 2004. He is survived by his wife and two children. The sympathy of the class is extended to families and friends of classmates who died recently: Gerard Kirchner, September 16, 2008; Richard Anderson, August 3, 2007; Major Murrell Murkey (USMC retired), June 10, 2008; Charles Rathclement, August 28, 2008; William Wallace, October 29, 2004; and Charles Way, September 28, 2008.
