Looking back on Hanover as we knew it when we started college in 1943 or later, the changes in the town and College are considerable. The few hundred civilians enrolled were housed largely in Wheeler Hall while the Naval V-12 unit took over the rest of the campus. Reviews and parades of the Navy and Marine units on the campus were frequent rituals. The presidency has seen marked personal and philosophical changes in the succession from President Hopkins to President Wright. The physical plant has been greatly expanded in every respect. The faculty is larger and more diverse than in our day. The student body, now coed, is more multicultural and intellectually superior to our group. The town has seen an increase in the population, occupying all available building lots in the village. Along the main street there are no longer three drug stores, a couple of fast food restaurants and Fletchers Smoke Shop. The College that we remember and support no longer exists in that form.

Bill and Jean Hallager enjoyed an early 55th wedding anniversary celebration with their entire family at the end of July in Lincoln, New Hampshire.

The sympathy of the class is extended to the family of Julian Sayer, who died on March 14.

Happy holidays and keep in touch.
