Nancy and I have just spent one of those classic, wonderful, New England weekends at home as the snow piled up around us. And with Lizzie '08 home for the holidays before heading back to Paris, what could be better than that?

Given the holidays, the mailbag is always a little light at this time of year. But I did get an update from Dale Edmunds. Dale is still living in Wellesley, Massachusetts (25 years and counting). Dale reports that his daughter Elizabeth is a senior at Trinity majoring in religion and his daughter Margaret is a freshman at Colorado College and loving it. His son Peter is a junior at the high school and "stuck at home alone with both his parents." Dale is still at U.S. Trust and "working hard to not lose too much of our clients' money in these turbulent times." He serves on the board of Thompson Island Outward Bound.

Dale also joined Sandy "Baldy" Tierney for a trip to Gillette Stadium this summer to watch Sandys son Christopher play for the Revolutions, one of the strongest professional soccer teams in the countiy. As Dale wrote, "After a spectacular college career playing soccer for UVA Christopher was drafted by the Revs in the first round of this year's MLS supplemental draft." Christopher has had a great first season with the Revolutions and we all wish him well for another great year in 2009.

Well that's all the news that's fit to print. Nancy and I send all our best wishes for a happy new year. If you're ever in the neighborhood, we'll leave the light on for you.
