What does the Dartmouth Gospel Choir have in common with Bruce Springsteen, Carole King, Beyonce and the Grateful Dead? All performed at inauguration events in Washington, DG. The choir performed at the Finance Welcome Brunch, a VIP event for donors who gave at least $50,000 to the Obama inaugural fund. The performance took place at the National Building Museum on Sunday, January 18. (The choir also performed at an area church, above.) "This is something we'll tell our children and grandchildren," says member Kaitlyn Sheehan '09. Director Walt Cunningham had long been hoping to land a performance slot for the inauguration. "That this became a reality is truly amazing," he says. Even more amazing, perhaps, was the choirs ability to find lodging for the trip. Local alums and members of the Dartmouth Club of Washington, D.C., stepped up to offer accommodations.
