The Philadelphia Club with its newly elected or re-elected officers has been moving at great speed over the past few months. Under the leadership of President Russ Dilks '51 (re-elected), V.P. Dave Steinberg '55 (re-elected), Secretary Pete Stem '63 (new), and Treasurer Russ McAlpine '59 (re-elected), the Club held a special program on the College Computers in March. Drawing over 140 alumni, students, and guests, the program proved to be an exciting one as well as a great recruiting tool for high school students and math teachers. The program was led by a contingent from Tuck School. Later that day, Acting Dean of Tuck, John Hennessey, delivered the address to the Club's 60th Anniversary Dinner, attended by over eighty alumni and wives. For its record attendance, the Class of '51 won the champagne attendance prize.

Upcoming Club events include our annual Picnic, Sunday, June 25 at Hugh Kenworthy's '41 farm (see Club Newsletter for details); Dartmouth Night at the Phillies, Tuesday, August 8; the Freshman SendOff Dinner, Wednesday, September 6 (alumni attendance solicited); and a series of softball games with other league teams.

This year the Philadelphia Club will switch its loan program to a Scholarship Fund effort. No selection of a worthy student has yet been made, but it is imminent. The switch represents a real achievement and the result of great efforts by Jack Nason '59, Scholarship Fund Chairman.

Dr. John Wolfe's home, on Sunday, April 23, was the scene of our Holding Operation for boys newly-accepted to the Class of '71. Dick Lippman '42 (D.E.D.), RalphManuel '58, from the Admissions Office and Coach Petercuskie of the football staff made the afternoon a lively one. Approximately the same ratio of acceptances to applications as that of the past few years resulted again this year from the Club's area, Dick reported.

Don't forget our Friday buffet luncheons, noon at the Poor Richard Club, 1319 Locust Street.
