Remember the geezers strolling around the Green on Homecoming Weekend? If not, a glance in the mirror will tell you all you need to know, and then it will be time to check the calendar as well: This year it’s on October 23-24. Do try your best to join old friends for a bright autumn weekend beside the “gleaming, dreaming walls”—especially since Clark Griffiths and Dave Orr have planned an expanded Homecoming mini-reunion from the 22nd through the 25th, culminating, as always, with blueberry pancakes from Clark and Happy.

Going through the ’57 Aegis with wife Katie, Bob Marchant found more questions than answers. Can anybody contribute to the man’s continuing education? Among his questions: What was the Cosmopolitan Club and does anyone remember “international students” Mario Torrella from Cuba or Majid Arbab from Iran? Are there other lost brethren we can use the notes to try to track down?

Art Koff’s listserv posting about how each of us can set up our own free online radio station at www.pandora.com led Bob Young to remember his discovery of Tommy Flanagan, “one of my jazz piano idols.” Back in the spring Art spoke at the annual convention of the American Academy of Neurology.

After retiring from a career in newspaper publishing Bill Muldoon bought a small paper in Craig, Colorado. He and Nancy have retired there though they spend much of the year traveling—including Bill’s trip to the remote climes of eastern Russia last winter to hunt brown bear.

Among the many others who have also retired is Bill Duvall, who continues to live on Mercer Island in Seattle after a career in the forestry industry. He remains an active skier with a particular affection for Sun Valley, California.

Dick Welch lives in Park City, Utah, and continues to be interested in film, skiing and hiking.

Randy Aires is currently devoting his energies to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and the Health and Wellness Foundation.

Jack Stemple now describes himself as a “minister’s spouse.” Judy’s church is right next to the TCU campus in Dallas. When not working as a minister she rings four bells in her church’s bell choir. Meanwhile, Jack has been reading “a whole waterfront” of books, lately a lot of Toni Morrison.

Dick Bohanon, among the non-retired, continues to work as a federal bankruptcy judge for the western district of Oklahoma. Oklahoma State University has honored his wife, Anne, for the last two years for her philanthropic work.

In addition to hosting the successful Scottsville, Arizona, mini-reunion last February, Herb Roskind has been teaching a groundbreaking course titled, “Global Trade in Real Time.” Laura helped to set up the first Democratic district office in Arizona; both she and Herb serve on the board of the Institute of Human Origins.

Joe Conley has traveled the United States and Canada in his 60-foot motor home, including a trip to Scottsville for the recent mini.

Allan Vendeland hosts a monthly lunch for the Dartmouth Club of Northeast Ohio at the Via Van Aken restaurant and invites all classmates in the Cleveland area to join them.
