The American Astronomical Society will hold its annual meeting in Hanover this summer and prominent astronomers from all over this country and Canada, as well as members of the British Association for the Advancement of Science which meets in Toronto immediately following the gathering here, will attend.
This society meets every year at some prominent observatory or university, and is attended by representatives from all the principal observatories and colleges in America. It is being held very early this year, August 3, in order to permit the members of the British Association for the Advancement of Science to attend it before their own convention in Toronto. It is hoped that among other authorities on astronomj', Professor C. V. L. Charlier, who lectured at Dartmouth recently, will be present.
