Through the efforts of Professor Urban and Dr. Joshi, the College was indeed fortunate to gain an unusual insight into Hindu philosophy as presented by Dr. Radhakrishnan of the University of Calcutta. Dr. Radhakrishnan's two addresses were received with great enthusiasm. The Round Table announces a formidable list of noted individuals who are definitely engaged to speak to the College during the fall and winter months. Among these are: Dham Gopal Mukerji, Hindu philosopher; John Langdan-Davis, British scientist; Warden Lewis E. Lawes of Sing Sing; S. K. Ratcliffe, English Journalist, Wayne B. Wheeler of the Anti-Saloon League; The Reverend John Roach Stratton; Clarence Darrow; and F. B. Gigliotti, of Monti-Mario College, Rome. Others being sought are: Senators Borah and LaFollette, William Green, President of the American Federation of Labor, Governor Al Smith of New York and Colonel William Donovan, Assistant United States Attorney-General.
The Cambridge University debators will compete with a Dartmouth team early this fall and Coach Lee S. Hultzem, newly-appointed, has selected W. C. Cusack '27, I. Rubin '28, and E. P. Arliss '29 to represent Dartmouth on the platform. The subject of the debate is "Resolved: that this house opposes the growing tendency of governments to invade the rights of individuals."
