Class of 1898

Frederick A. Gibbs of Dover, N. H., died November 1, 1924, having suffered a long time with tuberculosis. He had never married, and left no relatives except his brother.

Walter Taylor Sumner, bishop of Oregon, represented Dartmouth at the inauguration of Dr. A. B. Hall, the new president of the University of Oregon.

Walter S. Adams, in addition to the many degrees and honors conferred, was awarded the Janssen gold medal for discoveries in astronomical science by the Societe Astronomique de France at a meeting in May.

The men of the class of '9B will be interested to know that John A. Gilman, whose mail address has been unknown for some time, is captain in the Quartermaster Corps of the U. S. Army, stationed at Fort Amador, Canal Zone.
