Mrs. Phil Winchester and Mrs. Ernest Silver, both of whom have recently undergone serious illness, are much improved in health.

Herb Rogers and the Gammons were among recent callers at the Secretary's office. Joe is doing a lot of the official advertising for the state of New Hampshire publicity drive.

Clarence Joy leaves the White River-Hartford-Wilder district next year. He becomes superintendent of schools at Proctor, Vt., at a handsome increase in salary.

Dave Storrs, Frank Musgrove, and Benny staged a little '99 reunion in connection with the recent Eighth District Rotary Convention at Manchester.

Jim Barney and wife recently visited the Sec retary's family in connection with a lumbermen's convention at Manchester.

Robert M. Dickey, Maurice's boy, is another son of '99 who is soon to enter the College.

Robert Winchester had a little hard luck. By taking the Mediterranean cruise of the New York state training ship he dropped back half a year in college. The cruise was to have ended in time for Bob to enter college in the fall, but owing to unforseen circumstances it did not get back until October 13. The college authorities refused Bob the chance to make up the three weeks' work that he had missed, and he had to stay out until the beginning of the second semester. Rather a contrast to our day, when "Peddy" Miller, K. Dickey, Guy Corey, Bill Colbert, and others used to be out teaching school for months at a time, and then could make up what they had lost and graduate with the rest of us. However, Bob says that his trip was well worth it, even though he lost one semester of college.

At the recent secretaries' meeting the words of an ex-secretary were quoted by no less than three speakers. He was (and is) Charles H. Donahue '99.

Genevieve Benezet accompanied her father to Hanover for the secretaries' meeting. She enjoyed getting acquainted with Barbara Joy, Louise Etta Musgrove (who happened to be home from Keene Normal), and Malcolm Beal.
