Harvard's strong track and field team handily won from the Dartmouth outfit at Cambridge May 15 in a meet which witnessed the smashing of a half a dozen dual meet records. The Dartmouth team, which has been severely handicapped all season by the inclement weather of Hanover, fell short of expectations and suffered in the injury of Glendenning who pulled a tendon while broad jumping and was unable to compete in the 220-yard dash in which he was figured to win.
Miller, of Harvard, who ran the 100 yards in 10 seconds; Kane, who was clocked in 49 seconds for the 440; Pratt, who hurled the discus 135 feet inches, and Captain Tibbetts, whose time in the two-mile run was 9 minutes 43 3-5 seconds, contributed Harvard's quota of the record-breaking performances. Two Dartmouth men also established new records for this dual meet, Covert hurling the javelin 181 feet ByZ inches and bettering the old mark by 10 feet 10 inches, and Moody setting the high jump mark at 5 feet llyi inches.
