In an effort to stimulate interest for and expression of the French language, Le Cercle Frangais announces a competition for student essays in French with a book prize which will be awarded about the middle of next semester.

Hanover will be treated to a Sunday newspaper if the plans now being formulated by the English department materialize. The news sheet will contain literary efforts of students in composition courses and college news which usually appear in THE DARTMOUTH on Monday morning. The new venture will be subsidized by the college to take the place left vacant by the financial short-circuiting of the former "Third Rail."

The college debating teams lost both ends of an inter-collegiate debate with Amherst

and Harvard on the question: "Resolved, that co-education as it exists in the state universities should be introduced into colleges of the League."

And when the noon whistle on the power plant blew December 17, the college body swarmed down the West Wheelock street hill over the Norwich bridge and boarded the specials, headed to Boston, New York or the West—to return early in January for the usual cramming before February finals.
