CLASS OF 1917
NOVEMBER 1929 John W. White

Butch Sherman reports that business has been excellent with him this summer, and he expects to carry a large amount to surplus. He won a new automobile in a raffle last month.

Walt Sisson is making a rather extensive tour of the Eastv during late October and November in the interests of his lumber business. His itinerary covers Hanover, New Haven, and Cambridge in successive weeks. Mrs. Sisson, who takes a keen interest in Walt's business affairs, is making the trip with him.

Professional Notes

Hank Allison is now a professor of civil engineering at Clarkson College in Potsdam, N. Y.

Hal Tobin received his doctorate degree in Switzerland this summer, and wrote us at that time that he expects to be at the University of Louisiana this year as assistant professor of the history of government.

Dr. "Camp" Campbell has received an appointment as assistant professor at the Dartmouth Medical School.

Sports

No member of the class has made a hole in one this summer.

The Old Guard

Rudy Miller is the most recent deserter we have heard of from Sunny Sanborn's famous Old Guard. He was married in October to Miss Betty Paige of White Plains, N. Y.; and Chuck Gilmore, who volunteered this item of news, says that Betty will be a real addition to the class.

Although we have none of the details, it is understood that Ralph Carpenter has been married about a year, a fact which has never

been spread in this column up to date. George Currier and Mrs. Ruth Eagleston Morrill were married on August 31 of this year in Arlington, Mass. This item is not inserted under the above heading because George was ever even a candidate for the Old Guard; but we just want to group all these weddings together.

Papas

Treas. Don Brooks has had a busy summer with young William M. Brooks, who arrived last spring.

Karl Thielscher, Jr., has been a citizen of the U. S. for some little time.

On August 11 Ruth and Walt Sisson welcomed a son with the name of Joseph Emery Sisson. We'll all agree with Walt when he says, "We've given the little fellow a high mark to shoot for."

In September the young Holbrook twins acquired a new kid brother. Dick says that he and Flip really think nothing of this event after having had twins.
