Dartmouth was named as the ultimate beneficiary of the estate of Mrs. Jeanette T. Cummings, widow of Horace S. Cummings, a, graduate of the College in the class of 1862 who died December 7, 1911. Mrs. Cummings, who resided in Washington, D. C., died December 12 at her home there. The bulk of the estate, reported in the press as more than $500,000, is to be turned over to Dartmouth on the death of her sister. It is stipulated that the funds shall be used for the erection of a memorial to her husband.
