CLASS OF 1912

The news has just been received of the passing away of a member of our class George Edward Spencer. We remember George even though he was only with us for a short while during the beginning of our Dartmouth days, and we extend to his family our sincere sympathy and condolences. The details of Geroge Spencer's life are set forth under the obituary notices in this issue.

On Saturday, January 11, Doc and Mrs. O'Connor presided over a most enjoyable luncheon and afternoon gathering of 1912 men and their much betters. Assisting Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor and in charge of a very profitable checking concession were Miss Elizabeth Ann O'Connor and Miss Sheelagh O'Connor. Seldom (according to report) have there been large society gatherings of this kind at which so few articles were listed as missing or claims made. Among those in prominence were noted: Mr. and Mrs. Jogger Elcock, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Erwin, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Plumer, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cronin, Mr. and Mrs. Al Eiseman, Randy Burns—all alone, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Snow, Wally Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Belknap, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rollins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Day, Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Garcia, Mr. and Mrs. Dud Redfield, Dr. and Mrs. Freund, Mr. and Mrs. Hutch Biery, Tom Brennock, Fred Goodrich, and Harry Brown. The afternoon was spent in conversational bridge, and a real good time was had by all.

At the New York alumni annual banquet ably presided over by Doc O'Connor as president of the Association, Twelve men were well represented. 1907 won the cup for the largest percentage of attendance, but there is a story that goes with that, and for our purpose we enjoy a "moral" victory. Really all that was needed to win that cup was to have Billy Baxter commute in from Indianapolis, Al Smith from Elkhart, Ind., and Hal Harmon from China. The others on the New York list who were able to attend were: Andrew Phelps, Jim Erwin, Randy Burns, Ed Mitchell, Cliff Sugatt, Harry Brown, Manuel Garcia, Judge Harrie Chase, Tom Brennock, Charley Gately, Wally Jones, Dick Remsen, Bob Belknap, A 1 Eiseman, and Carl Rollins.

Received a nice short note from Ray Cabot the other day, giving news that all was going well around Boston.

All 1912 men have been solicitous in the recent serious illness of Mac Rollins, and we are all much relieved in his complete recovery.
