I received a note from RussTolles, reporting that he is still "living" as he puts it.... His health is not of the best, but he still hopes for our 60th! He recently underwent another angioplasty—his fifth! To me, this should set some sort of a record??? Danny Marshall, planning a trip East with time on Cape Cod and a possible luncheon there, asked our Cape pundit George Porter to make the arrangements. George called me and I was able to find the names of only six classmates! I hope Dan will report on the luncheon in his next Pace Setter. George and Lela just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary—congratulations!

Word has just been received of the belated death of "Red" Bliss, who passed away at home in San Francisco on September 7, 1996.

Our classmate from the 49th state- Blair Morrissey—reports in as follows: He hopes to visit with Lew Harriman and his wife, Helen, this summer in their Buffalo, N.Y., home. In passing through N.Y.C. last May to attend a five-day Elderhostel course and sailing Long Island Sound as a member of the crew of the Lottie G. Howard, a restored 100-year-old Glouster fishing schooner, Blair had the opportunity to talk by telephone with his roommate Syd Cardozo. "Syd is nursing all the ills that come with advancing years." Blair continues, "My garden is finally planted and in a week or two I'll have my little 18-foot sailboat in the water, probably for local sailing only."

You should be reading this in mid-late September so there is still time for you to make up your minds to join your classmates on October 4th for the mini. Speaking of reunions, my plans for a glorious and fantastic 60th are well underway. Please give your attendance serious thought! I guarantee you will not regret taking one more trip back to where it all began!
