REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON ALUMNI PROJECTS
AUGUST 1930 PHILIP S. MARDEN '94

The item of business which had been referred to this committee at the previous meeting of the Council was reported upon by Mr. Marden. It had been previously voted by the Council that a booklet to be known as "Post Dartmouth" should be drawn up by the committee and set in type. Mr. Marden reported that this had been done and exhibited at the meeting sample copies of the booklet. In conference with the Administration, assurance had previously been given to the Council that "Post Dartmouth" could be sent by the College under Alumni Council sponsorship to all the members of the graduating class and to succeeding graduating classes.

The content of the booklet was praised by members of the Council and considerable discussion arose as to what classes should receive the publication. Some members of the Council felt that it should go to all alumni, while others felt that this financial outlay was not justified and that it should go to only members of the graduating classes. Others felt that the booklet should be sent to as many classes as possible and recommended that it go to both graduates and non-graduates of the last five classes.

It was VOTED: That the Council recommend to the trustees of the College that "Post Dartmouth" be sent to the graduate and nongraduate members of the class of 1930 and to the graduate and non-graduate members of succeeding classes, and that it be sent to the graduate and non-graduate members of the preceding classes if the trustees felt it possible to do this.

Following the report from Mr. Marden, the secretary, Mr. Hayward, reported that the booklet "Dartmouth College" had been revised after a lapse of several years and that this valuable addition to the available information which could be sent to prospective students, secondary schools, parents, and alumni, would be published early in the summer. He suggested that "Dartmouth College" be sponsored by the Council and it was voted that this be done.
